Look below for further definition of Slightly vs. Extra Distressed Finishes:
Slightly Distressed The distressing process is an added touch to give the Collection a more authentic period appeal. The slight irregularities inherent in the hand-making process coupled with some distressing of the finish combine to produce an age worn dignity that is normally only achieved through time.
Extra Distressed The customer may order the extra distressed finish if an authentic antique look is desired. In addition to more time spent distressing the furniture item; during the finishing process, the craftsman takes care to allow the the natural grain and slight imperfections of the wood to remain nearer their natural state. The result is a striking resemblance to early period pieces which are now bringing hundreds of thousands of dollars at auction houses throughout the United States.
Please Note: Due to the extra time required to complete the furniture, there is a 5% additional charge to an item's normal price if the extra distressed finish is desired.
